Using Aluminum Foil As Dryer Sheet

Theoretically you put a rolled up ball of aluminum foil in the dryer instead of using a dryer sheet and then you can say good bye to static cling.

Roll them together in a ball about two to three inches in diamater and toss that ball into the clothes dryer along with your laundry. It will remove static it does not need to be changed each time. Mylar foil tubing is not approved for use as a clothes dryer vent material and should not be used for this application. This is one of my best budget savvy tip you do not need to spend one more cent on dryer sheets.

I ve completely eliminated the need for dryer sheets. They also tumble happily with your laundry softening it as it drys. Roll up a sheet of aluminum foil into a ball and throw it in the dryer. Wrap the sugar in a piece of aluminum foil and toss it in a 350 degree.

Make sure it is about the size above and ball it up tightly. Instead try aluminum foil. Aluminum foil reflects heat so try placing a sheet under your ironing boards cover to smooth wrinkles a bit quicker. Reduce your use of aluminum foil for cooking especially if cooking with acidic foods like tomatoes or lemons.

I was a firm lover of these until i found that i could take aluminum foil ball it up and toss it in the dryer with the wet laundry. The photo below shows an installation of mylar foil tubing which actually runs behind a fixed wall covering and was the only dryer vent material installed in this particular home. All you need to do is tear off three sheets of aluminum foil each about a foot long. These sheets also help to create a softer feeling and fresher smelling clothes.

Aluminum dryer balls will not provide your clothes with the floral scents you re used to with dryer sheets. While in the dryer they absorb electrical charges so your clothes stay static free. But dryer sheets can be costly and some even leave a slimy layer on clothing that can damage the fabric and the color. Aluminum foil will also fail to soften the clothes like a dryer sheet would.

All you have to do is take aluminum foil ball it up and place it in the dryer with wet clothes. Use less aluminum foil. This helps to reduce static electricity and keep clothes crisp.
