Im totally unscientifically minded so excuse me if this is a totally stupid idea but i was wondering if grow light produce the right kinda light to charge a solar panel and if so would that then be enough energy to in turn run the light which is charging the solar panel maybe using low impact led lights.
Will light from an led charge a solar panel.
Although charging won t be as fast or efficient as on a sunny day solar lights will still be able to harvest energy from the light of the sun.
As you want to use another source of electric energy to produce solar light led light is a good option.
As the led light panel provide light source the solar panel produces energy to make the led light shine the excess energy the led bulbs doesn t need can be immediately consumed or stored in a battery.
However the light waves are not as similar to sunlight waves as incandescent bulbs produce.
Charge your solar panels for at least 10 12 hours if you re using an led light to do so.
It is true that solar panels need light before they can charge but as you might have guessed it is not necessary for the light to be from the sun.
Solar panels utilize a very narrow spectrum of light from the sun.
Like the sun led is designed to produce a spread of light wavelengths which consist of visible light long infrared waves and ultraviolet waves.
That light can charge solar lights and solar panels because the solar cells are extremely sensitive to light.
Charge solar lights from the led light.
Simply put it s much faster to charge a solar panel with natural sunlight than it is to charge a solar panel with artificial light especially just a lightbulb.
This is the best way to charge solar lights when you don t have access to indoor lighting such as when you re camping.
Yes you can charge solar panels with led lights.
You would need to find a led that produces the wave length of light that the solar panel needs to produce any measurable amount of electricity.
Battery operated led lights like led flashlights are also able to charge solar lights.
The design of the solar panel receptor is in such a way that they can detect even the slightest wavelength of light.
To get a solar watch to fully charge in artificial led light it needs to charge for 150 hours and even then it can potentially be harmed by the heat given off by the led light.
