Uneven Roof Sheathing

Sometimes new shingles are applied directly on top of old uneven shingles.

Roofing nails are exposed. Curved or uneven roof trusses will cause osb roof sheathing to warp or buckle under roof coverings. Tabs on asphalt shingles are not lined up. Standing water on a flat roof.

Uneven sheathing on new construction roof. Temporary safety straps left on roof. Damage that causes an uneven roof might result. A roof over or re roof is not recommended because it will certainly lead to buckling.

Uneven roof sheathing causing visible irregularities in the roof surface. The sun was low so it was hitting the roof at a sharp angle which tends to accentuate these things more than when the sun is overhead. I haven t talked to the builder yet since i jsut saw this friday evening so i don t know what their response will be but i thought i would put it out there to see what other think. Install osb textured side up avoid installing osb with the textured side down.

Btw if you need a. Buckling can occur if the wrong type of nails were used to connect the sheathing to the rafters. Damaged framing frequently causes roofs to sag or dip. Roof trusses ridges or rafters have bowed.

Rafters or joists are the primary supportive members of roof structures. Shading pattern is visible on an asphalt shingle roof. Ensure roof trusses are in proper alignment with no curves or uneven sections when installing osb to sheathe roofs.
